CTA announces two pioneering service models
Corecom Technology Academy has announced the introduction of a pioneering new model to their portfolio of services. The Academy, which offers high end, bespoke, recruitment, technology training and onboarding packages to clients, has implemented a new ‘Recruit, Train’ model so now provides two models of support, tailored to an organisation’s requirements. They:
1. Help organisations build diverse pipelines of talent by recruiting, training, and deploying their Associate Consultants into a company’s teams
2. Recruit and train new employees directly into organisations.
‘Recruit, Train’ sits alongside the established ‘Recruit, Train, Deploy’ model, providing more options and flexibility to clients needing to expand their technology teams.
‘Recruit, Train’ model
CTA has successfully demonstrated the success of their Recruit, Train model through supporting an organisation in the Legal industry who were seeking to expand their Software Development capabilities, yet didn’t have the ability to do so in-house. They recruited, trained and supported junior people in their transition to the company’s teams where they continued their learning and began to add value to project delivery.
As a result, the legal organisation was able to quickly add to its existing experienced Software Development capability at a time of growth and successfully enabling them to increase their technology delivery throughput.
When asked about the ‘Recruit, Train’ model offered by CTA, Thomas Crabtree, Academy Director, said:
“Organisations have a number of routes to help them address their need for digital skills, including well established models like our 'Recruit, Train, Deploy' solution. Introducing a 'Recruit, Train' solution to the market enables organisations to take advantage of our specialist / tailored recruitment and training capability while hiring the person from the start.
“Organisations now have the flexibility to either hire someone from the start or use the traditional model to ‘try before you buy’, providing more options to organisations and more opportunity for people to enter the technology industry.”
‘Recruit, Train, Deploy’ model
As well as recruiting and training new employees directly into organisations, CTA also offers a more traditional route to finding new talent with its recruit, train and deploy solution.
The model has proven to be a real winner in the retail industry for example, with an organisation who were embarking on an equality and diversity initiative. This particular initiative required investment in an emerging talent pipeline that focused on providing opportunities for disadvantaged and underrepresented people. Given they had a range of vacancies across development roles, and an expectation that the number of unfilled vacancies would grow over the next two years, they required a more predictable talent solution compared to a traditional recruiter-based approach.
Corecom Technology Academy worked with the organisation to identify, train, and deploy people across a range of roles and disciplines. They:
· recruited people with the right aptitude and attitude for the company
· identified the key technology, tools, and processes being used across the company
· created a training programme that provided the skills and knowledge required for junior developers and testers, and a number of business analysts
· embedded their Associate Consultants into the company’s teams, providing ongoing support and learning opportunities.
The retail organisation commented:
“The Associate Consultants provided value to the project delivery teams quickly, working with the company’s existing experienced staff and CTAs support structures to ensure they were continually upskilled where required, were happy and supported in their projects teams, and had structured development plans to help them plan out their short, medium and long-term futures.”
As a direct result, the company increased diversity in their teams, provided opportunities for underrepresented people, and have ultimately created a predictable talent pipeline where new people can join the team in a supported and managed way.
Speaking about the ‘Recruit, Train, Deploy’ model, James, Taylor, Business Director, said:
“As well as our innovative Recruit, Train service to clients we also offer a more traditional Recruit, Train, Deploy model. This way the client gets the benefit of having someone join the business, fully trained and ready to work on projects, but without the cost until they are on site.
“The 'try before you buy' model works very well when people need in demand skills but are looking for people to be fully trained before committing financially.
“It also comes with additional benefits such as further training during the duration of the contract, regular reviews and feedback sessions and a dedicated mentor while the associate is onsite. The client gets the chance to establish good working relationships before having the option to employ them full time at the end of the contract period.”
So, whether you are wanting CTA to recruit, train and deploy employees into your organisation or just recruit and train new employees directly, one of these pioneering models could be your answer to the tech skills shortage.
